ARTIST'S PROFILE - Victoria Fitzpatrick
Before choosing the path to Fine Arts, I previously worked in the Graphic Design field involved in both layout & logo design , book and magazine illustration , with clients including Revlon, Coca Cola and the Sydney Opera House. This gave me a good grounding in design and colour principles which serve me well in my artwork. I seek to share some of these skills through the workshops I run for adults in my local area & various locations.
I have had 4 solo exhibitions and been involved in many major art shows, including an International Convention held in Brisbane 2001, where my work was especially featured.
My logo design for the International Wildlife Exhibition was winner in a QWASI competition.
My main passion is working in pastel and watercolour, depicting the natural environs and the human form. I like to tell a story through my work, exemplified in my recent “Adoption Journeys” exhibitions, partly funded through RADF Grants. The paintings from which are currently being featured into a book, along with a collection of adoptees stories, entitled ‘Touched by Adoption.”
My work is represented with the Wild Hearts Gallery,Buderim , Frances Reilly Gallery, Eumundi and Yandina Historic House . Recognition for my work through several Awards in various Art Festivals on the Coast include:
